Principal’S message

Welcome to the P.S./M.S. 5, The Port Morris School of Community Leadership. The purpose of this webpage is to provide parents, students, and our school community with easy access to a wealth of information on our school programs, policies, and activities.

P.S./M.S. 5 is a NYC Department of Education Public School located in the Bronx, New York and serves approximately 600 students from the South Bronx/Melrose section.  We offer various learning opportunities for all our students. We believe our school community is a place where all members ~ students, teachers, families, and administrators ~ work together as a team to educate our children and ensure that each child reaches their full potential.  We pride ourselves on being a family and maintaining open communication. Throughout the school year, exciting things are happening in our school building for students, families, and our school community! We encourage you to get involved by joining our Parent Association, volunteering at school activities/events, and taking an active role in your child's education. You are the best gift you can give your child.
